AMERICAN RED CROSS CPR CLASSES

We have classes for everyone including 100% instructor led classes, blended learning classes, challenge courses, and 100% online classes. All of our certification classes meet the latest OSHA and American Red Cross Guidelines. 
The following American Red Cross provider blended learning classes are offered at Help-A-Heart CPR. These courses have two parts: an online portion that must be done in advance followed by an in-person skills sessions. The in-person skills session is approximately 45 minutes to 3:30 depending on the class. Upon registration for the American Red Cross blending learning course a link will be emailed to each student with information to complete the online learning portion.

BLS CPR for Healthcare (R.21)

​The American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize and care for patients who are experiencing respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, airway obstruction or opioid overdose. The Basic Life Support (BLS) is intended for healthcare providers and those seeking an advanced level of resuscitative measures.

Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid

​The CPR/AED/First Aid certification offered by Help-A-Heart CPR is meant for bystanders and laypersons. It is not for healthcare providers. ​The First Aid/CPR/AED program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies.

Advanced Life Support (R.21)

The Advanced Life Support (ALS) course emphasizes providing high-quality patient care by integrating psychomotor skills, rhythm interpretation, electrical interventions and pharmacologic knowledge with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible outcomes for adult patients.​

First Aid for Severe Trauma

The First Aid for Severe Trauma (FAST) program provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to respond to an emergency involving life-threatening bleeding.​

Wilderness First Aid

The Wilderness and Remote First Aid course provides individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response.​

American Red Cross Challenge Courses

Challenge Courses

The purpose of a challenge course is to provide participants the opportunity to demonstrate
knowledge and skill competency outside of a formal class setting. Participants have sole
responsibility to prepare for the knowledge and skill evaluations. Anyone is eligible to participate in
a challenge.
Participants who do not possess current American Red Cross certificate(s) (or equivalent) may
participate in the challenge option once. If they do not pass the challenge, they will be referred
to the Training Coordinator at Help-A-Heart CPR regarding  information on taking a full course. They are not permitted to attempt the challenge again.

Class participants and employers can visit redcross.org/confirm and enter the ID found on the digital certificate (or scan the QR code with a standard QR reader using a smart device) to access a copy of the valid certificate with student training information.
