AMERICAN RED CROSS CPR CLASSES

American Red Cross CPR
The following American Red Cross CPR and First Aid classes are blended learning courses requiring both an online component and classroom skills session. Upon registration you will be emailed the URL link to complete the online course module.
San Antonio CPR

Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (BLS)

This course is designed to train professionals to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adult, child, and infant victims. Consistent with the 2015 AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, the BLS CPR certification class is the foundation CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration and practice, case-based emergency response scenarios, and reflection and debriefing activities with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to certificate and training history. This class is not the AHA BLS Provider Course but is American Red Cross.

Adult and PediatriC FIRST AID/CPR/AED

This course is designed to train professionals to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adult, child, and infant victims. The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. This class is not the AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid but is American Red Cross.

ADVANCED lIFE SUPPORT FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS (ALS)

The American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ALS) Blended Learning course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize and care for patients who are experiencing a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular or respiratory emergency. When a patient experiences a life-threatening emergency, healthcare providers need to act swiftly and promptly. The course emphasizes providing high-quality patient care by integrating psychomotor skills, rhythm interpretation, electrical interventions and pharmacologic knowledge with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Content in this program is consistent with:
• The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) 2015–2018 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science with Treatment Recommendations.
• The 2015–2018 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
This class is not the AHA ACLS Provider Course but is the American Red Cross ALS certification course.

PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS (PALS)

The American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Blended Learning course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize and care for pediatric patients who are experiencing shock or a respiratory or cardiac emergency. When a patient experiences a life-threatening emergency, healthcare providers need to act swiftly and promptly. The course emphasizes providing high-quality patient care by integrating psychomotor skills, rhythm interpretation, electrical interventions and pharmacologic knowledge with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Content in this program is consistent with:

CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER

This course teaches students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants, use an AED on an adult or child victim of cardiac arrest, and use personal protective equipment to stop bloodborne pathogens and other diseases from spreading. This course is one step above the Adult, Child, Infant CPR/AED course.

​CPR CLASS CHALLENGE OPTIONS

Please feel free to reach out to the instructor directly if you have any specific questions regarding the training or the on-line portion of the class.
BLS Challenge-American Red Cross: The purpose of the American Red Cross BLS challenge is to give individuals the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and skill competency outside a formal class setting. Participants have sole responsibility to prepare for the knowledge and skill evaluations and the final written exam. Anyone is eligible to participate in a challenge, regardless of current certification.
Certification Fee: $70.00
Duration: The challenge takes about 30-40 minutes
Certification: 2 year American Red Cross BLS certificate (issued same day)
Manual: No manual is required.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross: The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Challenger is to give individuals the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and skill competency outside a formal class setting. Participants have sole responsibility to prepare for the knowledge and skill evaluations and the final written exam. Anyone is eligible to participate in a challenge, regardless of current certification.
Certification Fee: $75.00
Duration: The challenge takes about 30-40 minutes
Certification: 2 year American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate (issued same day)
Manual: No manual is required.

The first way to find your American Red Cross Certificate is to search using the Find My Certificate webpage provided by the American Red Cross. By searching by the email address that you registered with the American Red Cross or your Training Provider you can easily lookup all of your American Red Cross certifications in one place. You can download or print them, if you’d like to carry a physical copy of your certificate(s). You can also order printed certificates directly from the American Red Cross if you’d like.​
