Skills Testing and Online Courses

​American Heart Association Heartcode ACLS, BLS, and PALS and Heartsaver CPR/AED & First Aid Skills Sessions are available on an appointment only basis or if listed on our scheduling and registration portal.
  • If available, please reserve seat by providing name, contact and payment information and/or emailing us or reserving your spot online through the American Heart Association ATLAS network.
  • Please bring a copy of the certificate of completion from the online course and the Pre-Course Letter/Self-Assessment Exam Results if registering for the ACLS or PALS Heartcode Skills Test.

Upon registration, you will then receive a confirmation from Help-A-Heart CPR as well as several email reminders prior to your class.

Group Training

​If you don't see a course or training day that fits your schedule; let us know if you have 8+ people and we can arrange to schedule a class at our location that suits your schedule as well as training needs. We also travel and facilitate onsite group training for organizations and businesses with 8+ people scheduled for the class.

Classroom Courses

​American Heart Association ACLS, BLS, and PALS and Heartsaver CPR/AED & First Aid classroom courses are available and are listed on the registration portal and Training Calendar. If available, please reserve seat through registering through our registration portal and/or emailing us or reserving your spot online through the American Heart Association Atlas Network.
American Red Cross and Health Safety Institute (HSI) classroom courses are also available and are listed as such on the class schedule and Help-A-Heart CPR registration portal.

CME/CE CONTINUING EDUCATION

Help-A-Heart CPR and the Help-A-Heart CPR Training Center is an approved provider of multiple Continuing Education programs.

IMPORTANCE OF CPR CERTIFICATION

Human Heart & CPR
CPR helps save lives. Those whom become certified in CPR may be the deciding factor between life or death.
The heart completely stops beating when a person experiences sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). When this happens, blood is not able to reach the brain and other essential organs. A SCA victim may die within minutes if CPR is not initiated.
Subsequently, CPR empowers individuals of all skill levels and ages to become life-savers. CPR training teaches men, women and children how to provide life-saving support in emergencies and other life-threatening situations. Here at Help-A-Heart CPR we provide training to individuals allowing them to embrace the confidence and skills necessary to administer critical assistance in various emergencies.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS IN CPR?

  1. Identify that a person is unconscious and can’t be woken.
  2. Alert emergency services by calling 911, or instructing a bystander to call while you perform CPR.
  3. Position one hand in the center of the victim’s chest.
  4. Place your other hand above the resting hand and interlock your fingers.
  5. Begin chest compressions.
  6. Give 30 compressions.
  7. Open the airway. Tilt the victim’s head back enough that their mouth falls open.
  8. While holding the patient’s chin (so the mouth stays open) use your other hand to pinch their nostrils shut.
  9. Put your mouth over theirs and breathe in. You should see their chest rise and fall.
  10. Alternate between compressions and rescue breaths until help arrives, or the victim regains consciousness.
