Our Mission
Did you know that there are more than 356,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) annually in the U.S., with nearly 90% of them fatal, according to the American Heart Association? At Help-A-Heart CPR we embrace lifesaving CPR and First Aid training while encouraging awareness and knowledge. Our goal is to empower students with the confidence to act in an emergency through hands-on training provided by our instructors. Through the use of cutting-edge instruction techniques and a comfortable and supportive educational environment, we strive to continually offer high caliber training that encourages self-awareness and continuing education.

- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- First Aid certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) certification
- We also offer ECG and Pharmacology classes, Online Continuing Education, First Aid For Severe Trauma (FAST), Wilderness First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens training and much more.
WHAT ARE THE CPR STEPS?
- Identify that the individual is unconscious and not responsive.
- Call 911 or tell a bystander to call while you perform CPR.
- Position one hand in the center of the victim’s chest.
- Place your other hand above the resting hand and interlock your fingers.
- Begin chest compressions.
- Give 30 compressions.
- Open the airway by tilting the victim’s head back enough that their mouth falls open.
- While holding the patient’s chin (so the mouth stays open) use your other hand to pinch their nostrils shut.
- Place your mouth over the mouth of the victim and breathe in. You should see their chest rise and fall.
- Alternate between compressions with a ratio of 30 compression and 2 and rescue breaths until help arrives, or the victim becomes responsive.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CARD?
You will receive your card within 48 to 72 hours (business days) dependent on the type of certification.
HOW LONG ARE THE CERTIFICATIONS VALID?
With the exception of the Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course which is valid for 1 years, all other certifications are valid for 2 years.
HOW DO I PAY FOR CLASS?
You can register online 24 hours a day at our Class Schedule and Registration page or you may pay by credit or debit card over the phone at 210-380-5344. If you’d like to pay by cash or money order and are in the San Antonio area, you can also come in to our San Antonio office (1747 Citadell Plaza Suite 100 San Antonio, Texas 78209) to register. If you would like to come to our office, please call ahead of time so that we can make sure someone is there to help you. Sorry, we don’t accept personal checks.

HOW LARGE OF A GROUP CAN YOU TEACH?
We can accommodate any size group! We offer CPR classes in San Antonio but travel to all counties in Central and South Texas. Call for details!
I TOOK A CLASS BUT I LOST MY CARD. WHAT DO I DO?
Give us a call at the office and we will send you a new card. The cost for a replacement card for CPR, First Aid or BLS is $30. ACLS, PALS, and PEARS replacement cards are $35.
